There is a qualified and experienced teacher (Mick O’Shea) based at Springfield, who provides educational activities for schools. All the teaching sessions have practical activities with a sensory focus which are fun, exciting and designed to motivate children. They will gain first-hand experience of the countryside, and discover the plants and animals within it. Sessions are based inside the classroom and outside in the grounds.
Whole-day teaching sessions can be booked by schools on any day during school term time.
The Centre can also be booked by groups during school holiday time and weekends.
All the teaching sessions are linked to the schools curriculum, and are tailored
to meet the needs of individuals/groups. This list gives an idea of what sessions
